Abstract
Staying current with the medical education literature is an important challenge for pediatric clinician-educators (PCEs). We conducted a narrative review of medical education articles published in 2025 and identified those with the greatest potential to influence educational practice. Members of the Academic Pediatric Association's Education Committee screened articles from 18 journals relevant to medical education. We applied standardized, blinded scoring criteria to 2,996 abstracts. We reviewed 120 full-text articles and selected the final articles through a consensus process. Selected articles were then categorized into thematic domains. We chose 11 articles as the Top Articles of 2025 for PCEs. These articles were organized into six domains: competency based medical education (CBME) assessment for residents, CBME assessment for fellows, metrics, wellness, anti-racism, and belonging. Collectively, these articles describe approaches to standardize trainee assessment (e.g. through entrustable professional activities), promote learner belonging, and support trainee retention and wellbeing. These studies highlight current trends in medical education and provide practical insights that may inform educational practice, assessment, and supportive training environments among PCEs and educational leaders.Source: PubMed (PMID: 42982227)View Original on PubMed
