This study analyzed 9035 papers of medicinal or edible mushrooms and fungi topic research from 1907 to March 20, 2026 based on the Web of Science (WoS), papers mainly written in English (97.809%), were from 148 countries or regions, 6,142 organizations and published 1,375 journals and book series. International Journal of Medicinal Mushrooms published 1,358 (15.03%) papers. Top 5 countries or regions were P.R. China, India, Japan, US, Poland, each published more than 463 papers. Among top 20 countries and regions, Portugal, Czech Re- public, France, Spain and Italy, show the higher citations per paper which are more than 33.43 times per paper. The top five affiliations were Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Universiti Malaya, Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences, University of Belgrade, each with more than 139 papers. Based on Essential Science Indicators (ESI) database, there are sixty top papers of all highly cited papers. All key words of the medicinal or edible mushrooms and fungi topic research were separated into six clusters for different research topic. The papers covered 15 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), and the most papers are focused on five SDG of 03 Good Health and Well Being (6,770, 74.931%), 02 Zero Hunger (1018, 11.267%), 15 Life On Land (803, 8.888%), 06 Clean Water and Sanitation (281, 3.11%), 12 Responsible Consumption and Production (179, 1.981%). For the medicinal or Edible Mushrooms topic research, there is one new Emerging Topics by Horizon Navigator. The results will help researchers clarify the current situation but also provide guidance for future research.Source: PubMed (PMID: 42962179)View Original on PubMed
