Puja Shakya
Puja Shakya, is a seasoned environmental scientist with a robust academic background and extensive professional experience in disaster risk management, climate resilience, and environmental conservation. She holds a Master of Science degree in Environmental Science from the College of Applied Sciences-Nepal, Tribhuvan University, Nepal.
With a keen interest in advancing her knowledge, Puja has pursued additional courses in specialized areas such as Nature-based Solutions for Disaster and Climate Resilience. These courses, including one from edX SDGAcademyX, have enhanced her expertise in addressing contemporary environmental challenges.
In her professional journey, Puja has held pivotal roles in various esteemed organizations, including the Regional Integrated Multi-Hazard Early Warning System (RIMES), where she currently serves as the Nepal Country Program Lead. Prior to this, she contributed significantly to the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) as a Program Coordinator and served as the Consultancy Delivery Manager for Climate and Resilience at Practical Action Consulting Nepal.
Puja’s research endeavors are equally commendable, focusing on diverse aspects of disaster risk management and climate change adaptation. Her publications in renowned journals reflect her commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and contributing to evidence-based practices. Notably, her work on landslides, climate resilience, and citizen science has garnered recognition within academic circles.
